Well here goes nothing. On request by Dhyan and others, I have recorded my poem Caged Birds.
It is a bit difficult embedding an audio link so here is a link to Internet Archive, where I’ve posted the audio file. I tried to embed it but it didn’t work (if anyone knows how to do it give me a hoy). Just click on the link and then click on the play button at the far right.
Hope that works!
in the new post section
above the body and under the title there are little icons
one of them is for a music file..
i think that should work
not i am gonna listen
I know what you refer to, but it doesn’t work with most audio file formats. Thanks anyway. Tipota has emailed me some instructions on how to do it, so I’ll give that a go.
absolutely fantastic
i am happy you picked this glove up (can one say that in english). it was even better this time – reading it with your voice.
You can say ‘picked this glove up’ – great expression. I am glad you liked it. I always like hearing a bloggers voice.
i listened and read again
(sorry for filling up your comments page)
it is like a play with so many different scenes connected by their cage. reminds me a bit the chicken cages we used to have when i was a child
You can fill up my comments page any day! I really appreciate your enthusiasm Dhyan.
It worked!
What a good idea, it is very touching to hear your voice on your poem.
Thanks Ben – I did it mainly for my overseas blogging friends.
the dimension of your voice, marvelous. i feel the words more deeply, and admire the clarity that comes through in an easy relaxed way. exceptional!
enjoyed it immensely, great piece!
You’re too kind tipota and thank you again for the instructions about podcasting.
Brave of you! Nice to put a voice with the writing. I had trouble with the download speed (wireless broadband) and wonder if that is a problem with my set-up or the file size.
I have no trouble usually with u-tube music, for instance. Anyway, I look forward to your next audio offering!
Thanks Stafford. Don’t ask me about technical stuff – I know little of these things – but I don’t think the file is very large – maybe it was windy! (I lose reception on my mobile broadband when it is windy and cloudy).
What a lovely poem and so nice to hear your voice again. You will have to do more of these. Happy Easter to you all.
Happy Easter to you Carolyn. Hope your legs OK. Shirl’s back is a playing up at the moment.
Very nicely done. More please.
Thanks Selma. Next time I’ll do one in an accent – German maybe.
Here goes nothing? Natural. Relaxed. Well paced. This is something else, Gabrielle. I reckon you will be a seasoned podcaster in no time flat, and a brilliant one at that. Will you take requests?
You’re too kind Brad – all I can hear is my shaky voice. Yes, I’ll take requests. I remember you emailed me all those instructions on how to podcast (I will have to go back and try to find them – that is the way tipota said I should do it, so you are both right I’m sure).
I adored hearing you read this! When I read it, the words were powerful and moving, but your voice added a dimension to certain lines that felt like wind rushing past me. Stunning! I hope you do more of these Gabrielle, because your voice is strong and certain when you read.
Wow Val – you must be hearing something different to me, but I’ll take your word for it (people usually hate their own voice when recorded). Thanks for your kind words.
thanks for doing this.
it is a great poem and only better for your reading.
Glad you liked it opoetoo – it was fun!
Fantastic! What a joy to hear your voice!
I know how much I enjoy listening to your podcasts (though they seem to disappear sometimes!) so thought I’d give it a go.
