This is a very old song colonialist – so this clip is just one adaptation – here is one with guitars (and violin) but there may be another with lyrics that include words about two guitars – maybe a metaphor (I’m not sure) I think I like this one even more http://youtu.be/JuC4aL-4-n0
There doesn’t seem to be much clue from quick research – Cruz wrote a poem of that name, but …?
Ah, a bit more reveals that it does appear to be the name of the old Russian gypsy folksong, and one presumes it was performed originally on those. The violin lends a lot to it, though.
Just terriffic! I loved it.
I don’t get the ‘Two Guitars’ bit, though. This is a piano and violin combo throughout.

forgot to say that ‘Two Guitars’ is the actual name of the song (it’s not that clear from the clip)

I agree 🙂 the violin is the stand-out but the song was probably played with guitars originally
Since I enjoy jazz…I of course thought of Django Reinhardt while I was listening to this. 🙂
He’s amazing (I just had a look at some of his stuff on youtube) – thanks Charles 😀
