Note: Just for the record my son wasn’t kidnapped (who the hell wrote this ad!) but it is still good to see an Australian awareness raising campaign that goes some way to educating the broader community. I do like Steve Bisley 😉
The experts agree there is an environmental component to the causation of autism (along with the genetic component) but are still trying to isolate the various causes – they have said vaccinations aren’t the problem, though many people disagree and there are literally thousands of court cases pending – research continues.
Excellent ad. I didn’t know more boys were diagnosed with it than girls. I hope there is enough funding for further research. And yeah, the kidnapped bit was slightly over the top….

I really wish they would get to the bottom of it… to think that this could all be avoided – I just hope that money is not involved!

Thanks Selma and yeah, it’s about 4:1 with the boys versus girls.
Powerful ad. I’m a poet mom with a child with autism, too. Here’s a link to a poem you might like. http://yourdailypoem.com/listpoem.jsp?poem_id=277
Love your poem – similarities with my boy that’s for sure 🙂
