The Force of Gravity
We didn’t realise the gravity of the situation
the impact of releasing a single word,
a flutter
faintly at first but slowly
the breeze from the butterfly effect
turned into a cyclonic wind
chaos
gravity holds
planets in orbit of the sun
you were the sun
as we were the planets
gravity
gone
there was a supernova
a stella explosion
what was before
and what remains,
a mirage
that is life
without gravity.

Wonderful, Gabe. Whether or not Paul used the word gravity, he still attracted.
He was a force! Thanks Mark.
This is beautiful and delicate. I feel I should whisper a response to your words.
A poem that is light as a feather, floating … and therefore perfectly realised.
Take care xx
Thanks Tracey
Oh, gosh. Paul’s words out of his vocabulary. I had been thinking of that but had forgotten which words. What a tribute to him that you remember “gravity” was one of the banished-out-of-love words!
Lovely, delicately balanced tribute both to Paul and to
Gravity. With both grace and gravitas which all depictions of gravity should have.
He recently blogged that he regretted the removal of gravity; and remember, ages ago you counterbalanced by writing about gravity http://alethakuschan.wordpress.com/2010/01/08/besides-light-today-i-studied-gravity-a-little/
Paul would have loved this.
Thanks Cocoyea
this is wonderful, gabrielle, wonderful.x
Thanks tipota
Brilliant rememberance Gabriel…just beautiful.
Thanks slpmartin
He was my blog’s gravity. I feel lost. If you want, you can reach my email at quersquirrelatgmaildotcom.
Thanks squirrel – when you are on that beach walking and listening to the sssssound of foam evaporating and you see a white bird, not a heron, you will feel better.
Paul’s force continues to pull us together… beautiful Gabe.
This is true Graham – I’m exaggerating for effect (learnt that from Paul – haha).
This is of course Paul’s legacy, that he should inspire another talented writer to create such beautiful imagery and capture feeling in verse. Splendid Gabrielle..
Thanks Val
He certainly should be described in such celestial terms. Ah, my God, what a loss. A fitting anmd moving tribute, Gabrielle.
Thanks Selma
a beautiful poem Gabrielle.
oui, un très beau poème…
Merci Benedicte
It seems you have had your Blog site far longer than my own. Your words are beautiful and bring to the fore how much impact certain people have upon our lives. Your words show a depth only to be imagined.
Thanks Renee – he touched a lot of people
